TL;DR

Location: Must be based in the UK (Remote, London, or Belfast)

What you will do

  • Advise the business on commercial contracts with clients from a wide range of industries and jurisdictions.
  • Engage directly in negotiating contract terms with external customers.
  • Manage and update standard contract templates to reflect the FT’s business model and changing product developments.
  • Use advanced legal AI tools to develop and implement agentic solutions to streamline workflows.
  • Deliver legal training to internal business partners.

Requirements

  • Solicitor qualified in the UK.
  • Strong commercial contract drafting skills with a deep understanding of copyright, licensing, indemnity, and liability issues.
  • Must be based in the UK (eligible for remote work or hybrid in London/Belfast).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong commercial awareness.
  • Available for an immediate start for a 3-month fixed-term maternity cover.

Nice to have

  • Previous in-house legal experience.
  • Practical experience or strong interest in utilising advanced legal AI tools to design efficient workflows.
