What you will do
- Run OPEX deep-dives (freight, storage, utilities, repairs & maintenance, travel/OOE) to investigate cost increases and identify root causes.
- Own monthly forecasting and annual budgeting with plant-specific KPIs, including plant P&Ls to assess true profitability.
- Perform detailed cost forecasting and forward-looking variance analysis linking cost movements to volume, mix, and operational drivers.
- Lead daily costing activities: standard cost setup and review for new item creations; manage standard vs. actual reviews and escalation to operations/procurement/pricing.
- Conduct routing reviews for top products to ensure accurate cost reflection; produce biweekly production-expense reporting for in-month course correction.
- Extract and segregate SAP data by plant and maintain Plant and Customer P&Ls in Power BI; support working capital analysis (AR, AP, inventory days/targets).
Requirements
- Location: must be based in Ontario (Mississauga office) or British Columbia (Richmond/Chilliwack offices).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA (or in progress) preferred.
- 2+ years in cost accounting or financial analysis, ideally in manufacturing (food/CPG preferred).
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; Power BI proficiency preferred.
- Hands-on SAP experience required.
- Strong communication skills to partner with plant operations and non-finance stakeholders.
