Electromechanical Technician

Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States. Onsite work in laboratory and field environments.

What you will do

• Assemble, integrate, test, repair, modify, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical system components.
• Fabricate and repair electrical modules, wire harnesses, control panels, and PCB assemblies.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, shop machinery, manual mills, lathes, and electronic test equipment.
• Inspect finished products for compliance with technical specifications, engineering drawings, procedures, and DoD regulations.
• Support multiple projects while collaborating with engineers and technicians in laboratory and field environments.
• Maintain detailed troubleshooting and repair records and produce delivery-quality technical documentation.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active Top Secret clearance are required, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access with polygraph.
• 10+ years of hands-on electronics technician experience, including at least 5 years of military weapon disassembly, integration, repair, and assembly.
• Proficiency in electronic assembly, soldering, crimping, splicing, cable fabrication, PCB population and rework, and control panel building.
• Ability to use hand and power tools, operate a manual mill and lathe, lift 35 pounds, and work with industrial chemicals and adhesives.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, work at elevated surfaces, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, independent working ability, and flexibility in changing project requirements.

Nice to have

• Ammunition and explosive handling certification.
• Welding experience for fabricating custom mechanical solutions.
• Formal certified cable assembly training.
• Forklift, crane, or scissor lift operation certification.
