What you will do
- Install and integrate aircraft wiring, cables, and wire harnesses according to approved methods, drawings, technical manuals, and modification work orders.
- Terminate connectors, including coaxial cables; clamp harnesses; perform soldering and advanced wire repairs as required.
- Troubleshoot faulty aircraft electrical systems and perform continuity checks, power checks, maintenance operational checks, and acceptance test procedures.
- Remove, inspect, repair, and reinstall aircraft parts and systems, and assist aircraft general mechanics with scheduled maintenance.
- Use multimeters, test sets, crimp tools, wire strippers, heat guns, and ground support equipment.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas, complete FOD walks, and document maintenance activities in logbooks and workbooks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of aviation experience, including 2 years working with military standards and specifications.
- Ability to read aircraft instruments, blueprints, safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in cramped or awkward positions, on ladders, platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures.
- Must be able to obtain a government security clearance.
- Must pass drug and background screening.
Nice to have
- Advanced wire repair experience.
- FAA A&P or FCC license.
- Experience maintaining aircraft such as UH-60, AH-64, CH-47, C-130, MC-130J, V-22, and related platforms.
