What you will do

• Design and implement AI pipelines for OCR, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and conversational agents.
• Architect and deploy LLM systems using OpenAI GPT-4, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and Llama.
• Develop and optimize prompts and build evaluation frameworks and regression suites to ensure system reliability.
• Manage large datasets and ETL pipelines, ensuring secure cloud deployments across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Collaborate with AI Strategists and product teams to integrate AI models into client-facing products.
• Mentor junior engineers through design reviews, pair programming, and hands-on coaching.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an AI/ML Engineer with a focus on shipping production systems.
• Hands-on expertise with modern LLMs (GPT-4, Claude, Gemini) and open-source models like Llama.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, and SQL (PostgreSQL).
• Strong experience building scalable RAG systems and agent frameworks.
• Ability to evaluate ML models using rigorous testing and performance benchmarking.
• Must be located in San Diego for in-office work.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying AI models on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Open-source contributions in AI projects or active participation in AI research communities.
