Principal Engineer, AI Factory

Salary: Up to $206,500 USD base salary annually, excluding annual bonus.

What you will do

• Make significant code contributions, perform complex code reviews, and serve as the highest technical escalation point for the AI Application Modernization Factory.
• Design, build, and deploy AI-enabled software development automation tools for legacy software analysis, requirements extraction, and architectural discovery.
• Integrate Generative AI capabilities, including RAG, GraphRAG, and LLM orchestration, into automation tools and business processes.
• Develop automation supporting modernization of legacy applications into cloud-native, microservices, and serverless architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Define engineering standards, mentor engineers, and drive quality, security, observability, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Resolve complex engineering challenges through structured problem solving and confident technical decision-making under ambiguity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including significant experience as a Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, or Architect.
• Expert AWS experience and mastery of Terraform for large-scale Infrastructure-as-Code environments.
• Deep expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, serverless technologies, distributed architectures, SQL and NoSQL databases, and modern application development.
• Strong experience with one or more of TypeScript, Python, C#, Java, Go, or Ruby, plus familiarity with React, NextJS, and Vite.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, application security, modern design patterns, Domain-Driven Design, Agile methodologies, and enterprise-scale B2B systems.

Nice to have

• Experience operating multi-tenant SaaS products at scale.
• Experience leading enterprise application modernization or re-platforming initiatives.
• Experience with multi-agent frameworks, LangChain, LlamaIndex, AI agents, MCP servers, and tools.
• Knowledge of context engineering, agentic architectures, hybrid vector databases, knowledge graphs, prompt engineering, and enterprise AI guardrails.
