Transportation Supervisor (Chemical Distribution)

Location: Onsite at 175 Terminal Rd., Providence, RI 02905-5500, United States. Second shift: 10:00 AM–7:00 PM.

What you will do

• Supervise private fleet drivers, dispatch operations, schedules, overtime, and safe returns.
• Monitor delivery performance, productivity KPIs, route optimization, truck utilization, and customer service levels.
• Implement DOT, EHS, food safety, internal audit, record-keeping, and driver compliance procedures.
• Coordinate safety training, inspections, accident investigations, spill or release response, and driver credential management.
• Manage fleet licensing, registration, preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, vendors, and maintenance spending.
• Resolve carrier performance issues, support transportation improvement projects, visit customer locations, and provide feedback to transportation leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of supervisory leadership experience and experience managing and dispatching drivers.
• Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, Hours of Service, OSHA, and related transportation regulations.
• Strong organizational, time-management, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Basic understanding of transportation management software, SAP, and Microsoft Office.
• HazMat certification or TWIC credentials may be required.

• Experience in chemical distribution facility operations.
