IT Network Engineer (Defense)

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, VPN, VoIP, and wireless.
• Manage modern hybrid cloud network infrastructure across on-premises, major cloud providers, and field sites.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, and firewalls from major hardware vendors.
• Implement system hardening in compliance with DoD STIGs, NIST frameworks, and CMMC.
• Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex network issues in diverse environments.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience in network engineering, preferably within defense, government, or fast-paced startup environments.
• Strong proficiency in networking protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
• Experience applying cybersecurity controls as directed by RMF, STIGs, NIST, and CMMC.
• Proven expertise with SD-WAN and software-defined networking (SDN).

Nice to have

• Industry certifications: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CCNA.
• Experience with 802.1x, RADIUS, and supporting classified networks.
• Proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, or PowerShell DSC.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and secure enclave designs.
• Active Security Clearance.
