Platform Engineer (AWS)

TL;DR

Platform Engineer (AWS/Terraform): Building and maintaining cloud infrastructure and self-service tooling for a large federal enterprise cloud platform with an accent on developer experience and automated delivery. Focus on provisioning Amazon EKS clusters, developing reusable Terraform modules, and ensuring system security and performance.

Location: Remote (USA). Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust / suitability determination.

Salary: $125,000 - $135,000

What you will do

• Build and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure to support hosted applications and improve developer experience.
• Develop reusable Terraform modules to enable standardized and compliant infrastructure provisioning.
• Build and manage standardized, paved-path CI/CD tooling and pipelines.
• Provision and operate Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) infrastructure and associated cluster add-ons.
• Integrate tools to ensure quality thresholds, security vulnerability scanning, and static analysis.
• Collaborate with government partners and app teams to ship software meeting security and SLA requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools, specifically Terraform.
• Solid background in containerization, networking, virtualization, and CI/CD concepts.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust / suitability determination.

Nice to have

• Prior experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• Production experience with Amazon EKS.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and zero-trust architecture.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
