What you will do

• Build cost models to establish Design-to-Cost targets for automotive components, modules, and assemblies.
• Analyze supplier quotes to understand and identify all factors influencing cost breakdowns.
• Lead the technical definition and implementation of electronic system cost modeling and analytics solutions.
• Develop technical relationships with suppliers to identify best-cost solutions and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Sourcing during the quoting phase to establish reference cost targets.
• Support Procurement teams during negotiation events using target costing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in cost engineering, VA/VE, and design/development of electronic systems.
• Proven technical leadership with the ability to lead and review the work of other cost engineers.
• Demonstrated ability to breakdown complex component costs into constituent parts.
• Fluency in English.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%, including domestic and international trips.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience developing cost models for components and modules.
• Experience with automotive-grade electronic systems and component selection.
