What you will do

• Take ownership of the live beta product, assessing architecture and improving reliability, speed, and capability.
• Architect the health intelligence engine, evolving backend infrastructure and data models for personalized health insights.
• Develop robust ETL pipelines to ingest data from lab providers (Quest, LabCorp) and wearables (Oura, Apple Health, Whoop, Garmin).
• Implement AI-powered features, including conversational AI health check-ins and predictive recommendation engines.
• Own security and compliance by building with HIPAA requirements as a first-class concern.
• Establish engineering culture, standards, and mentor additional engineers as the team scales.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of shipping complex products.
• Deep expertise in backend architecture, APIs, and databases using Python, Node.js, or similar.
• Experience with health data integrations, including HL7, FHIR, or wearable APIs.
• Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for secure, compliant deployments.
• Practical experience implementing AI/ML, LLMs, and prompt engineering.
• Must be based in the USA.

Nice to have

• Experience building consumer health or clinical products.
• Familiarity with LOINC codes and medical terminology.
• Previous founding engineer or technical co-founder experience.
• Experience with mobile development using React Native or Flutter.
