Engineering Manager (Core Infrastructure)

Salary: $190,000 – $250,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Set clear priorities and roadmaps for the Core Infrastructure team to ensure business alignment.
• Raise the bar on execution quality by reducing regressions and improving ownership.
• Grow and evolve the team into a self-organizing unit to eliminate single points of failure.
• Provide direct, constructive coaching and feedback to engineers to support their professional growth.
• Drive operational rigor by defining SLIs/SLOs and proactively managing technical debt.
• Act as the primary liaison to cross-functional partners and contribute technically to architecture and code.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building production software with at least 4 years in a startup environment.
• Proven experience managing platform engineers and growing individual contributors.
• Deep technical familiarity with high-throughput, data-intensive systems or AI-powered platforms.
• Strong technical leadership skills to lead architecture discussions and earn team trust.
• Experience setting roadmaps in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to New York City for hybrid work.

Nice to have

• Experience in Trust & Safety or abuse prevention domains.
• Experience operating at the Product-Engineering boundary or in customer-facing engineering roles.
