What you will do

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of software and firmware engineers, providing career growth and performance reviews.
• Provide technical direction for embedded firmware, C#/.NET Windows applications, and signal/image-processing algorithms.
• Manage planning, scoping, and execution of releases, ensuring high-quality delivery on schedule.
• Conduct design and code reviews to uphold engineering standards for reliability, performance, and security.
• Recruit and onboard top engineering talent to build a high-performing, inclusive team culture.
• Collaborate with global teams across the US, Europe, and Asia on system integration and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• At least 2–3 years of people-management or technical-lead experience.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET for Windows applications and C/C++ for embedded firmware.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, data structures, and multithreaded design for real-time systems.
• Experience with Git and modern software development lifecycles.
• Must be based in or able to work from Newport, United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor, metrology, or scientific-instrument domains.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Proven track record of delivering AI/ML capabilities in products.
