TL;DR
Engineer - IT Manufacturing Execution (MES/manufacturing systems): Implementing and supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems for pharmaceutical and animal-health production with an accent on electronic batch records, equipment integration, validation, and data integrity. Focus on integrating MES with SAP and PLC/SCADA systems, troubleshooting production platforms, and optimizing regulated manufacturing workflows.
Location: Hybrid work environment in Hook, UK or Speke, UK

What you will do
- Design, configure, implement, and support Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Build and modify electronic batch records, workflows, and equipment integrations.
- Analyze manufacturing and laboratory workflows and implement process improvements that reduce cycle times and improve shop-floor data integrity.
- Integrate MES platforms with SAP, PLCs, SCADA, and other manufacturing systems.
- Execute IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols and maintain systems in a validated, GxP-compliant state.
- Gather requirements with Manufacturing Operations, Quality Assurance, and Process Science teams, and train manufacturing and laboratory users.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience configuring and supporting an MES platform such as Tulip, Werum PAS-X, Emerson Syncade, or POMSnet.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably pharmaceutical, biologics, animal health, or another GxP-regulated industry.
- Working knowledge of GxP and computer system validation principles.
- Understanding of industrial automation, including PLCs, SCADA, and their integration with manufacturing systems.
- SQL experience for troubleshooting, data extraction, and report generation.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Git.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, process analysis, communication, and collaboration skills.
