AI Research Engineer (Fintech)

AI Research Engineer (Fintech): Creating state-of-the-art foundational deep learning models for fintech with an accent on credit risk, anti-fraud, and LTV forecasting. Location: Remote within time zones GMT-2 to GMT+5 or hybrid from hubs in Cyprus, Serbia, Spain, Georgia, or Kazakhstan. Relocation support is available to these hubs.

What you will do

• Train self-supervised models on discrete sequences to improve credit risk, anti-fraud, and LTV forecasting.
• Implement the latest NLP and DL techniques for fintech-specific models.
• Process and analyze large multimodal datasets, including tabular, behavioral, transactional, text, and graphs.
• Optimize compute resources for efficient training and inference.
• Manage the full ML lifecycle from data collection and experimentation to evaluation and impact analysis.
• Publish research in articles and present at industry conferences.

Requirements

• Strong theoretical knowledge of ML, DL, and NLP.
• Proven experience in developing and training modern deep learning models.
• Expertise in dataset design and data mixing for DL training.
• Ability to maximize compute resource utilization for research experiments.
• English: B1 or higher required for communication with an international team.

Nice to have

• PhD or previous research experience with publications.
• Experience training transformer models with 1b+ parameters.
• Familiarity with CoLES, BERT4Rec, or SASRec architectures for non-natural language event sequences.
• Experience in the fintech or banking sector.
