What you will do

• Hire, manage, and develop a team of software engineers, overseeing their performance, priorities, and career growth.
• Drive the execution of quarterly roadmaps, breaking down complex goals into measurable milestones.
• Participate in design and code reviews, contributing to architecture decisions and technical tradeoffs.
• Partner with product, SRE, security, and domain engineering teams to define platform contracts and align on reliability and velocity goals.
• Build and improve tooling, infrastructure, or reliability systems, ensuring observability and measurable impact.
• Foster a culture of high ownership, open communication, and continuous improvement across the R&D organization.

Requirements

• 6–8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineering teams.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software at scale.
• Technical depth in database reliability, distributed systems, CI/CD, or internal developer platform tooling.
• Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms (Azure preferred), infrastructure tooling (Kubernetes, Docker), and DevOps practices.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills with the ability to translate technical topics for non-technical audiences.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with observability platforms (metrics, logs, tracing).
• Background in performance engineering or test automation frameworks.
