Transmission Telecom Planning, Senior Specialist

Location: Hybrid position based primarily in Rialto, California; employees are generally required to work and reside in California. The role may require extended work at alternate SCE locations. Relocation does not apply.

Salary: $111,600–$167,400 per year

What you will do

• Engineer and design SCE telecommunications facilities and provide data for future growth and budget planning.
• Develop cost estimates, work orders, construction plans, and project packages for major and smaller projects.
• Coordinate permitting, environmental requirements, compliance, traffic control, street use, excavation, railroad, flood control, and agency requirements.
• Lead and monitor construction activities, outages, standards, and safe work practices for overhead and underground construction.
• Support operational emergencies by dispatching crews and resources to restore services.
• Protect physical, financial, cybersecurity, customer, medical, and proprietary information assets.

Requirements

• At least three years of experience in electrical utility distribution, transmission, telecommunications design or construction, or an engineering discipline.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Ability to apply engineering principles, construction standards, and industry practices.
• Experience determining work scope, service methods, and overhead/underground construction methods.
• Ability to manage multiple technical or customer projects and collaborate with clients, peers, management, and agencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Experience with wind or pole loading applications, drafting systems, GIS, SPIDA Calc, Autodesk AUD, cGIS, SAP, or equivalent systems.
• Experience preparing work orders, construction plans, or project packages.
• Leadership, mentorship, or technical utility stakeholder-management experience.
