Location: Must be based in San Francisco and work from the office 5 days/week

Salary: $225,000 – $300,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Lead all aspects of mechanical engineering across the full product development cycle.
• Manage and mentor a team of mechanical, soft goods, and prototype engineers.
• Provide technical leadership on cross-functional trade-offs including thermals, fluids, and sensing.
• Collaborate with the Chief Product Officer to define and execute the hardware product roadmap.
• Oversee high-volume production scaling and supplier management, including travel to Asia.
• Implement systems and processes to ensure team efficiency, including design reviews and phase gates.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience developing complex electromechanical systems (consumer electronics, automotive, or medical).
• 2+ years of direct management experience leading mechanical and product design engineers.
• Deep expertise in injection molding, electronics integration, mechanism design, and DFM/DFA.
• Proven track record of launching products successfully under aggressive timelines.
• Willingness and ability to travel to China as needed for production oversight.
• BSME or equivalent degree.
