What you will do

• Own and evolve core compute infrastructure across multiple cloud providers and data centers.
• Design capabilities for improved service performance, flexibility, and high availability.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues across the stack, from the Linux kernel to Kubernetes control planes.
• Systematically profile and tune infrastructure to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure a stable and secure platform.
• Participate in on-call rotations to detect, respond to, and learn from system incidents.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience building and operating large-scale platform or compute infrastructure.
• Deep expertise in operating, scaling, and enhancing Kubernetes clusters.
• Proficiency in Go or Rust for developing custom infrastructure components and controllers.
• Strong experience designing, debugging, and operating distributed systems.
• Ability to execute high-risk upgrades and changes with minimal downtime.
• Must be authorized to work in the US or Canada (visa sponsorship is generally not available).

Nice to have

• Background in virtualization technologies like Firecracker, gVisor, or Kata.
• Experience optimizing container spin-up times.
• Familiarity with eBPF and Linux kernel internals.
• Experience securing workloads in multi-tenant environments.
