What you will do

• Take end-to-end ownership of the software development life cycle for virtualization components.
• Develop and optimize the EC2 Nitro Hypervisor and associated off-host software.
• Drive operational excellence by improving the quality and reliability of hypervisor platforms.
• Influence the technological roadmap and mentor other engineers on the team.
• Collaborate with global hardware, software, and firmware groups to deliver innovative solutions.
• Leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and technical problem-solving.

Requirements

• Must be based in Berlin, Germany
• Several years of experience in kernel or virtualization development.
• Proficiency in writing clean, optimized, and scalable code using C or Rust.
• Deep understanding of operating system internals and Linux command line tools.
• Experience designing and architecting reliable, scalable systems.
• Strong grasp of the full software development life cycle.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in at least one CPU architecture such as x86 or ARM.
