Senior Compiler Engineer (LLVM)

Location: Munich, Germany. Hybrid work model with time split between the assigned Intel site and off-site work.

Annual salary: €83,390–€150,850.

What you will do

• Develop new features for Intel's open-source compiler stack.
• Build and improve C, C++, SYCL, and Fortran compiler components.
• Work with the LLVM framework on optimization passes, code generation, and frontend integration.
• Contribute upstream to Clang and collaborate with the open-source community.
• Enable performance, scalability, and portability across CPU, GPU, and accelerator architectures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Informatics, or a related technical discipline with 5+ years of experience, or a relevant master's degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with C/C++, object-oriented programming, data structures, and compiler development.
• Core LLVM expertise, including experience building compilers or compiler components.
• Technical contributions to open-source projects and the Clang frontend, demonstrated through commits, patches, or reviews.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to proactively pursue solutions.
• Participation in standards committees such as C, C++, or Khronos.

Nice to have

• Deep understanding of C/C++ language constructs.
• Experience with oneAPI or similar vendor toolchain development.
