Principal Engineer - Cloudforce One (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Set architectural direction and technical strategy across Cloudforce One engineering, including Kubernetes services, hirify.global Workers, D1, and the global network.
• Design and build large-scale data pipelines and services that collect, enrich, analyze, and expose threat intelligence, TTPs, IOCs, and abuse signals.
• Replace architectural debt and technical bottlenecks with faster, more reliable systems for threat detection and abuse response.
• Drive technical initiatives across threat intelligence platforms, abuse detection systems, legal response tooling, and customer-facing security products.
• Develop agentic AI workflows and AI-assisted development practices for threat hunting, detection engineering, and abuse investigations.
• Mentor engineers and own operational excellence, including on-call participation and incident response.

Requirements

• 15+ years of cybersecurity experience and 10+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems architecture, threat intelligence, adversarial analysis, or detection engineering.
• Hands-on proficiency in Go and/or TypeScript, with production experience using Kubernetes and edge computing platforms such as hirify.global Workers and D1.
• Experience designing and operating critical data pipelines using Kafka, Temporal, or similar technologies, plus PostgreSQL and Redis at scale.
• Ability to lead initiatives across multiple teams, codebases, and problem domains, while communicating complex designs clearly.
• Availability for hybrid work in Austin, Texas and possible on-call work outside standard working hours.

Nice to have

• Trust & Safety or platform abuse experience, including phishing detection, malware analysis, fraud prevention, or content moderation.
• YARA, Snort, or similar detection-rule experience.
• Experience with Rust, Terraform, React, threat intelligence platforms, IOC distribution, or automated mitigation pipelines.
• Knowledge of DNS, TLS/SSL, HTTP, web security standards, and web-based threat vectors.
