TL;DR

Salary: $125,622 - $175,622 CAD

A leading commercial space connectivity company operating an optical data relay constellation and advanced on-orbit compute capabilities.

What you will do

  • Define and mature system architectures for spacecraft, payloads, and ground interfaces.
  • Translate mission objectives into technical requirements, interface definitions, and verification strategies.
  • Lead system-level analyses, trade studies, and performance assessments to inform technical decisions.
  • Drive cross-functional integration across hardware, software, avionics, and mission operations.
  • Manage key system budgets including mass, power, RF link performance, and reliability.
  • Mentor junior and intermediate engineers while ensuring adherence to industry standards and governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering or spacecraft development.
  • Proven track record in delivering subsystems or verification campaigns for space missions.
  • Proficiency in mission analysis, system modeling, and simulation tools like Matlab, Python, or STK.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and requirements management.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada (relocation packages available for approved roles).

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Experience with RAMS, FMECA, or FDIR design.
  • Familiarity with space industry standards such as NASA SE Handbook or ECSS.
  • Exposure to remote sensing instruments and data pipelines.
