What you will do
- Define and mature system architectures for spacecraft, payloads, and ground interfaces.
- Translate mission objectives into technical requirements, interface definitions, and verification strategies.
- Lead system-level analyses, trade studies, and performance assessments to inform technical decisions.
- Drive cross-functional integration across hardware, software, avionics, and mission operations.
- Manage key system budgets including mass, power, RF link performance, and reliability.
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers while ensuring adherence to industry standards and governance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in systems engineering or spacecraft development.
- Proven track record in delivering subsystems or verification campaigns for space missions.
- Proficiency in mission analysis, system modeling, and simulation tools like Matlab, Python, or STK.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and requirements management.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada (relocation packages available for approved roles).
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Experience with RAMS, FMECA, or FDIR design.
- Familiarity with space industry standards such as NASA SE Handbook or ECSS.
- Exposure to remote sensing instruments and data pipelines.
