Senior Electrical Cost Consultant

Location: Toronto or Montreal, Canada; flexible activity-based work model combining office collaboration and remote work for focused tasks.

Salary: $95,000–$125,000 base pay, excluding bonuses, equity, benefits, and other incentives.

What you will do

• Lead cost planning and estimating for complex, large-scale electrical construction projects from inception through completion.
• Develop and review feasibility estimates, high-level budgets, cost plans, detailed estimates, and tender documentation.
• Advise clients and stakeholders on procurement strategies, contract types, cost risks, and project cost objectives.
• Lead tender evaluations, negotiations, and award recommendations.
• Manage post-contract cost control, including valuations, change management, and final account settlement.
• Mentor junior and intermediate consultants, present cost reports, and support client relationships and business development.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in electrical estimating, cost consulting, quantity surveying, or construction cost management.
• Experience managing complex electrical construction projects across multiple phases.
• Advanced understanding of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and data systems.
• Experience with cost plans, feasibility studies, tender evaluations, procurement strategies, contracts, and post-contract cost control.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, client communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating or cost management software; a degree or diploma in electrical engineering, quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field is preferred.
