What you will do

• Supervise newsroom personnel, editorial content, and daily operations to ensure high production and promotional standards.
• Execute a multiplatform content strategy to ensure timely and effective distribution across all digital and broadcast platforms.
• Coordinate story assignments for reporters and manage the daily assignment of managers to newscasts.
• Provide leadership and editorial supervision to producers and executive producers, focusing on brand identity and script content.
• Collaborate with the director of multiplatform content on digital-exclusive projects and storytelling.
• Implement performance management processes, including training, coaching, and orientation of new employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 3 years of news management experience leading a team of direct reports.
• Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be willing to work full-time onsite at the station in West Hartford, CT.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overnights (24/7 shift capability).

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience in recruiting producers and conducting formal performance appraisals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage staff effectively under extreme pressure during breaking news.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback to develop the team.
