TL;DR

Financial Crime Enhanced Investigator (Fintech): Investigating high-risk and sensitive financial crime activity with an accent on SARs, customer relationship reviews, and intelligence-led risk management. Focus on managing complex referrals, producing regulator-ready outcomes, and collaborating with law enforcement.

Location: Primarily remote, but must be based within reasonable travelling distance of one of the hub locations (Edinburgh, Birmingham, Chester, Glasgow, Halifax, Hove, Leeds, Manchester, Newport, Cardiff) to attend when required.

Salary: £44,901 – £49,890 per annum

What you will do

  • Investigate complex referrals and make decisions relating to NCA disclosures and customer relationships.
  • Manage high-risk and sensitive cases to produce regulator-ready outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including law enforcement.
  • Identify control gaps and support continuous improvement in financial crime operations.
  • Provide coaching and subject matter expertise (SME) support to colleagues.
  • Support change initiatives and champion process enhancements.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in Financial Crime investigations, AML, transaction monitoring, or SAR activity.
  • Ability to assess complex investigations and make evidence-based decisions.
  • Strong regulatory understanding and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Must be based within reasonable travelling distance of specified UK hub locations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with NCA disclosures or law enforcement engagement.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring colleagues.
