TL;DR

Payroll Process Expert (Finance/EMEA): Designing and optimizing scalable payroll processes across the EMEA region with an accent on innovation, system integration, and automation. Location: Hybrid (Colchester, UK) — Must work in-person 3+ days a week

What you will do

  • Lead the design and implementation of modern, scalable payroll processes for the EMEA region.
  • Integrate AI and automation technologies to reduce manual effort and optimize payroll workflows.
  • Manage strategic projects, including system implementations, transitions, and payroll integration for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to align payroll requirements and service standards.
  • Ensure all processes comply with statutory regulations, company policies, and GDPR requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain the accuracy and security of payroll data.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in payroll operations within complex, multi-country organizations, specifically across EMEA.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, including HMRC regulations and GDPR compliance.
  • Proven track record in process improvement, including the use of AI and automation tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including XLOOKUP and complex data analysis.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Must be based in or be able to commute to the Colchester office for hybrid work (3+ days per week).

Nice to have

  • Professional payroll qualifications such as CIPP or equivalent.
  • Experience with payroll system administration and process automation.
  • Familiarity with managing payroll within a shared services environment.
  • Experience in project management or supporting strategic corporate initiatives.
