TL;DR
Payroll Process Expert (EMEA): Designing and optimizing scalable payroll processes across the EMEA region with an accent on AI and automation. Focus on system integration, process innovation, and ensuring compliance with HMRC and GDPR standards.
Location: Hybrid (London, UK). Must be based in London and able to work from the Colchester office one day a week; overall requirement is to be in-person 3+ days a week.

What you will do
- Lead the design and implementation of modern, scalable payroll processes focusing on efficiency and innovation.
- Leverage AI and automation technologies to streamline payroll workflows and reduce manual effort.
- Manage payroll-related aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and new country implementations.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to ensure all payroll requirements are met.
- Ensure payroll processes comply with statutory regulations, company policies, and GDPR requirements.
- Maintain high service standards and address operational challenges with external payroll providers.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in payroll operations within a complex, multi-country EMEA organization.
- Strong knowledge of HMRC regulations and GDPR compliance.
- Proven ability to act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills, including XLOOKUP and data analysis.
- Experience in process improvement and leveraging AI/automation technologies.
- Must be based in London and able to travel to the Colchester office.
Nice to have
- Professional payroll qualifications such as CIPP or equivalent.
- Experience managing payroll in a shared services environment.
- Background in project management or supporting strategic initiatives.
- Experience with payroll system administration and process automation.
