What you will do

• Manage monthly payroll operations for a portfolio of customers from start to finish.
• Ensure accurate and timely staff payments according to specified deadlines.
• Maintain the payroll system with current pay scales, pension rates, and tax thresholds.
• Calculate statutory payments (maternity, paternity) and holiday pay for leavers.
• Handle reporting to external stakeholders, including HMRC.
• Ensure strict compliance with GDPR and ISO27001 data protection standards.

Requirements

• Degree level education or relevant payroll qualification.
• Previous experience in payroll processing.
• Solid understanding of HMRC requirements, including Tax, NI, and statutory deductions.
• Experience with Auto Enrolment pension schemes.
• Proficiency in Google Suite and data analysis.
• Must be based in the UK.

Nice to have

• Experience within the education sector.
• Knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) or Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS).
