NPI & Bid Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England, UK. Candidates must be able to work in the UK without restrictions and successfully complete the required level of UK National Security Vetting.

What you will do

• Lead and develop the project procurement and bid team.
• Define and execute sourcing strategies, supplier management plans, and category initiatives focused on total cost, quality, delivery, and resilience.
• Establish long-term supplier partnerships and manage agreements involving intellectual property, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Support new product introduction through design-for-manufacture and design-for-test activities, production readiness reviews, capacity planning, and product lifecycle management.
• Implement make-or-buy strategies and technology-enabled procurement solutions to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and deliver cost savings.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Programme Management, and senior leadership to meet business objectives.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary procurement or project sourcing teams in complex engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Extensive experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, category strategy, commercial negotiations, and supplier performance management.
• Strong understanding of NPI, bid processes, DFM, DFT, product lifecycle management, production readiness, capacity planning, and make-or-buy decisions.
• Analytical and strategic capability, including interpreting market, risk, and supplier performance data and delivering measurable cost reductions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence presenting to senior leadership.
• UK work authorization without restrictions and eligibility to complete UK National Security Vetting are required.
