Principal Solution Architect (.NET/AWS): Designing end-to-end technical solutions and defining architecture standards for a modern SaaS platform with an accent on cloud-native scalability and distributed systems. Focus on modernising a large-scale cloud platform, leading architectural decisions on resilience and security, and collaborating with engineering teams to deliver scalable services.

Location: Hybrid in Manchester, UK (2 days per week onsite)

Salary: £90,000 – £105,000 per annum

What you will do

• Design end-to-end technical solutions across multiple SaaS products.
• Define architecture standards, principles, and best practices.
• Drive cloud-first architecture using modern distributed systems on AWS.
• Lead architectural discussions regarding scalability, resilience, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to balance commercial requirements with technical excellence.
• Review existing systems and identify opportunities for modernisation.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Solution, Technical, or Software Architect.
• Strong background in modern software engineering using C# / .NET.
• Extensive experience designing cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Deep understanding of microservices and event-driven systems.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (ECS or EKS).
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in Manchester, UK.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, payments, or complex transactional platforms.
• Knowledge of Domain-driven design, Event sourcing, or CQRS.
• Experience with serverless architecture and DevSecOps practices.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
