Country Controller (Finance)

TL;DR

Location: Must be based in the Alphaville (São Paulo) region; hybrid format requiring on-site presence approximately twice a week.

What you will do

• Oversee financial accounting, reporting, and internal controls for all legal entities in Brazil and Paraguay.
• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy in revenue recognition, accruals, and expense management.
• Ensure financial statements comply with both US GAAP and Local GAAP (BR GAAP) standards.
• Maintain a robust internal control environment in strict compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
• Coordinate with the local tax area to ensure full compliance with Brazilian tax requirements.
• Serve as the primary interface between controllership, country leadership, external authorities, and auditors.

Requirements

• 10+ years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or controllership role within a multinational.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Administration, or similar; MBA or specialized Finance certification preferred.
• Mandatory CRC (Conselho Regional de Contabilidade) certification.
• Strong expertise in US GAAP, Local GAAP, and cost accounting within manufacturing companies.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Fluent English proficiency.

• Knowledge of the Agribusiness sector in Brazil.
