Junior Accountant

TL;DR

Junior Accountant (Finance): Maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with inventory costing and reporting with an accent on general ledger accuracy and month-end close activities. Focus on inventory cost variance analysis and preparing financial data to support business decision-making.

Location: Remote (Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia). Working hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST.

What you will do

• Maintain the general ledger, record transactions, and prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Process employee expense reports and perform detailed account reconciliations to investigate discrepancies.
• Support inventory costing for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods using weighted average costing methodologies.
• Facilitate month-end and year-end close by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Analyze actual financial results against budgets and forecasts and prepare reporting packages for management.
• Prepare audit schedules and provide support during internal and external audits.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of professional accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Experience working with ERP or specialized accounting systems.
• Must be based in Argentina, Brazil, or Colombia.
• Ability to align with PST working hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of weighted average costing methodologies.
• Pursuing a professional accounting designation (CPA).
