What you will do

• Develop REST services and integration components within a backend microservices architecture.
• Design and engineer payment systems, including gateways, acquiring, and issuing platforms.
• Build next-generation Payment Acceptance infrastructure focused on merchant needs.
• Implement new capabilities based on the product roadmap and conduct architectural reviews.
• Collaborate with product teams and partners' engineering teams to achieve business outcomes.
• Address technical debt and improve overall operational effectiveness.

Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in modern engineering methodologies, CI, and quality engineering.
• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin and Spring / Spring Boot technologies.
• Experience designing REST APIs and handling high-volume distributed systems.
• Knowledge of Kafka event streams and distributed data storage (Cassandra, Hazelcast, or similar).
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Must be based in or be able to work hybrid in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Nice to have

• Extensive experience in the development of payment gateways, acquiring, or issuing platforms.
• Expertise in integrating Local Payment Methods (iDeal, Klarna, Trustly) or major cards (Visa, Mastercard).
