Senior Software Engineer, Processing (Fintech)

Location: Remote within the United States, Canada (Ontario or British Columbia), Netherlands, Poland, or Czech Republic. The posting also describes a hybrid arrangement requiring a commutable distance to the SoHo office in New York City, with three in-office days per week for NYC-based employees.

Annual salary: $160,000–$200,000 USD plus equity.

What you will do

• Ensure high reliability, low latency, correctness, and security across transaction-processing interfaces and related services.
• Develop capabilities for authorization, clearing and settlement, disputes, transaction enrichment, and network integrations across Mastercard, Visa, and Amex.
• Evolve infrastructure for physical network peering, including connectivity, failover, and capacity management.
• Lead initiatives from planning through launch while aligning engineering, product, and operations stakeholders.
• Improve systems, engineering processes, and technology-debt management across the organization.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and contribute to strategic planning with engineering and product leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience shipping code in fast-paced production environments.
• Advanced distributed-systems design skills and strong systems instincts.
• Experience leading large cross-functional projects across engineering, product, and operations.
• Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to empathy and inclusion.
• Primary technologies include Java, Python, Kotlin, and AWS.
