What you will do

• Plan and conduct comprehensive corn breeding research to develop superior yellow corn inbreds and hybrids.
• Lead a regional corn breeding research program to deliver performance improvements consistent with product development objectives.
• Leverage enabling breeding technologies and advance novel methodologies for the development of new corn hybrids.
• Develop and deploy selection strategies for multi-trait selection of traits of interest.
• Collaborate with a regional team of scientists to ensure the success of all Research Center activities.
• Perform hands-on field activities including planting, pollinating, harvest, and data collection.

Requirements

• PhD in plant breeding or plant genetics, preferably with an emphasis in genetics and data analytics.
• Comprehensive knowledge and applied research experience in plant genetics or plant breeding.
• Experience with quantitative/population genetics, meta-analysis, and genome-wide prediction methods.
• Proficiency in field research processes and phenotypic data analyses and utilization.
• Must be authorized to work in the US; no visa sponsorship provided for this role.
• Ability to work in varying ergonomic environments, including physical field activities.
