What you will do
- Plan and conduct comprehensive corn breeding research to develop superior yellow corn inbreds and hybrids.
- Lead a regional corn breeding research program to deliver performance improvements consistent with product development objectives.
- Leverage enabling breeding technologies and advance novel methodologies for the development of new corn hybrids.
- Develop and deploy selection strategies for multi-trait selection of traits of interest.
- Collaborate with a regional team of scientists to ensure the success of all Research Center activities.
- Perform hands-on field activities including planting, pollinating, harvest, and data collection.
Requirements
- PhD in plant breeding or plant genetics, preferably with an emphasis in genetics and data analytics.
- Comprehensive knowledge and applied research experience in plant genetics or plant breeding.
- Experience with quantitative/population genetics, meta-analysis, and genome-wide prediction methods.
- Proficiency in field research processes and phenotypic data analyses and utilization.
- Must be authorized to work in the US; no visa sponsorship provided for this role.
- Ability to work in varying ergonomic environments, including physical field activities.
