What you will do
- Build backend services powering end-to-end insurance automation workflows.
- Design and implement APIs and services for quotes, policy issuance, renewals, and claims.
- Develop scalable data models and system architecture for complex insurance processes.
- Optimize asynchronous processing, queues, and background job pipelines.
- Ensure transactional data consistency and reliability across multiple systems.
- Collaborate with product, QA, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver features.
Requirements
- Experience building backend systems in production environments.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and database architecture.
- Ability to implement complex workflow or state-based systems.
- Experience with asynchronous processing and event-driven architectures.
- Must be based in China to work remotely.
- Hands-on ownership mindset from design through production support.
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, insurance, or workflow automation platforms.
- Knowledge of Node.js, Python, or Java.
- Experience with messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
