Sr. Process and Equipment Engineer (Aerospace): Scaling production of High Voltage Electric Propulsion Systems for eVTOL aircraft with an accent on reliability, uptime, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing equipment. Focus on troubleshooting complex electromechanical systems, eliminating recurring failure modes, and optimizing OEE in a high-volume environment.

Location: San Jose, California, United States. Unable to provide work visa sponsorship.

Salary: $126,700 - $158,400

What you will do

  • Support high-volume production and respond to equipment and process escalations.
  • Troubleshoot complex electromechanical manufacturing systems and drive long-term corrective actions.
  • Lead root cause analysis to eliminate recurring failure modes impacting uptime and OEE.
  • Own station- and line-level performance metrics and execute equipment upgrades or CAPEX projects.
  • Develop and improve SOPs, work instructions, and standard manufacturing processes.
  • Partner with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Product Engineering to resolve process deviations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering.
  • 6+ years experience sustaining or optimizing equipment in highly automated, high-volume manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to improve manufacturing performance metrics such as OEE.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills using structured methods (e.g., 5 Whys, DMAIC, 8D).
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US; no visa sponsorship is available.

Nice to have

  • Experience with eMotor or battery manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff).
  • Expertise in robotics, vision systems, or MES integration.
  • NFPA 70E or RIA certifications.
  • Experience with PFMEA development, NX, or Teamcenter.
