Pre-Sales Engineer, Cybersecurity

Location: Remote/Teleworker; primarily working from home

Salary: USD 184,500–357,500 annually in Colorado; USD 175,000–411,500 annually in Connecticut, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington. Compensation combines base salary and target-level sales compensation at a 75%/25% mix.

What you will do

• Lead technical strategy for the cybersecurity and SASE portfolio across DoD and federal sales engagements.
• Design, validate, and defend large-scale SASE and SSE architectures, including ZTNA, SWG, CASB, and FWaaS.
• Support customers with RMF, ATO, STIG, FedRAMP, DoD IL5, and DoD IL6 requirements.
• Run technical discovery sessions, architectural workshops, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts.
• Provide technical leadership for federal pursuits, including RFI and RFP responses.
• Guide SIEM, SOAR, and XDR telemetry integrations and provide field feedback to Product Management, Engineering, and the Office of the CTO.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, solution architecture, or technical cybersecurity or network security leadership.
• Expertise in SASE, SSE, Zero Trust Architecture, cloud and hybrid environments, networking, firewalls, identity and access management, and secure access technologies.
• Experience supporting DoD, federal civilian, or highly regulated customers and understanding of the federal acquisition lifecycle.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong technical writing, diagramming, presentation, and customer advisory skills.
• Active federal security clearance is preferred but not required at hiring.

Nice to have

• DoD 8140/8570 compliance.
• CISSP, CCSP, JNCIE, GIAC, or relevant vendor-specific certifications.
• Significant military technical leadership experience in cyber or communications.
