Senior Flight Controls Software Engineer (Embedded)

Location: Remote-friendly anywhere in Brazil; hirify.global Brazil is based in São Paulo.

What you will do

• Develop safety-critical software components for a fault-tolerant flight control system.
• Decompose system requirements into high-level and low-level software requirements in compliance with DO-178C.
• Design, develop, integrate, and test complex hardware/software flight control systems with multidisciplinary teams.
• Create software plans, processes, guidelines, requirements traceability, and design documentation.
• Conduct design reviews, performance and safety analyses, requirements-based testing, and structural coverage analysis.
• Contribute to project planning, prioritization, tracking, and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in flight control software or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, and Bash.
• Experience developing high-criticality safety-critical software to DO-178C DAL-A/B standards.
• Understanding of RS-422/485, CAN, ARINC-429, AFDX, Ethernet, and TCP/IP communication protocols.
• Experience with model-based software development and certification under DO-331, plus familiarity with debuggers, oscilloscopes, and bus analyzers.

Nice to have

• VHDL or Verilog development experience.
• Familiarity with UML or SysML modeling tools.
• Knowledge of RTOS, multithreading, and Linux.
• Experience with DO-254 and DO-330 tool qualification.
