Staff Engineer, Quality (Aerospace) (AS9100, RCA/CAPA, NPI): Leading quality initiatives for autonomous aircraft across design, new product introduction, and full-rate production with an accent on quality systems, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and manufacturing process control. Focus on developing control plans and inspection strategies, improving process capability through statistical analysis, and influencing engineering, manufacturing, and supplier decisions.
Location: Seattle, Washington; on-site
Salary: $149,000–$223,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees.

What you will do
- Lead quality initiatives across the product lifecycle, from early design and new product introduction through full-rate production.
- Develop and maintain quality systems aligned with AS9100 standards.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support NPI, production scaling, control-plan development, and inspection-strategy definition.
- Use statistical analysis and process-control methods to monitor and improve manufacturing performance.
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams while mentoring team members and influencing decisions without direct authority.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or process engineering.
- Experience leading root cause analysis and implementing RCA/CAPA actions.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems and AS9100 or similar standards.
- Experience supporting NPI and scaling production in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, SPC, capability analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
Nice to have
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability industries.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Lean Six Sigma, or equivalent certification.
- Knowledge of DFMEA, tolerance analysis, design reviews, QMS, MES, PLM, and advanced inspection or test methods.
