What you will do
- Lead day-to-day execution of mass properties programs across multiple aircraft platforms.
- Maintain the master database tracking weight, center of gravity, and inertia for all aircraft variants.
- Partner with design and structures teams to validate mass assumptions and drive weight optimization.
- Conduct aircraft inspections and lead physical weighing operations on the factory floor.
- Prepare documentation and analysis to support FAA certification and regulatory compliance.
- Implement tools and workflows to improve data collection and communication across the program.
Requirements
- Must be based in San Jose, California
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field.
- 5-10 years of experience in mass properties or weight engineering on aircraft or aerospace vehicle programs.
- Strong understanding of weight and balance principles for dynamic systems.
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- Ability to move between analytical office work and hands-on data collection on the factory floor.
Nice to have
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as NX, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
- Experience with ARP4754A certification processes.
- Background with eVTOL, rotorcraft, or novel aircraft configurations.
- Familiarity with database management or mass properties-specific software.
