Salary: $140,000 - $175,000 + equity

What you will do

• Own the design, tolerancing, and architectural selection of turbopumps and supporting fluid-loop mechanisms.
• Perform critical analyses including rotor dynamics, bearings, seals, and hydraulic performance.
• Develop and execute environmental test and qualification plans for flight hardware.
• Collaborate with thermal, avionics, and satellite bus teams to define the pumped-fluid-loop roadmap.
• Manage supply chain trades and evaluate manufacturing equipment for specialty processes like impeller machining.
• Partner with production to create work instructions, in-process checkouts, and end-of-line tests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or a relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical or electromechanical design and analysis.
• 2+ years of experience specifically in the design and analysis of mechanisms, pumps, or fluid systems.
• Proficiency with CAD and FEA software packages.
• Must be a "U.S. Person" (Citizen, Green Card holder, etc.) per ITAR compliance requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with centrifugal or axial pumps for closed-loop thermal systems.
• Knowledge of NASA-STD-5017, SMC-S-016, and GSFC-STD-7000 standards.
• Expertise in bearing analysis and preload measurement techniques.
• Practical application of GD&T.
• Demonstrated ability to manage moving mechanism assemblies across the full product lifecycle.
