What you will do

  • Conduct risk assessments and safety analyses such as FMEA, HAZOP, and FTA on powertrain systems.
  • Develop and implement safety standards and procedures in accordance with regulations like OSHA and ISO 26262.
  • Collaborate with design, validation, and manufacturing teams to ensure safety is embedded in all equipment lifecycle stages.
  • Review mechanical, electrical, and software designs for safety compliance.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses related to powertrain equipment.
  • Specify and validate safety systems including emergency stops, interlocks, and guarding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Safety Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in a safety engineering role, preferably with powertrain systems.
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
  • Experience with industrial equipment, safety controls, and risk mitigation techniques.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US; no visa sponsorship available.

Nice to have

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
  • Experience with powertrain equipment testing and validation processes.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations regarding chemical handling and hazardous materials.
