Sr Staff Site Reliability Engineer (AI)

Location: San Jose, California, United States. U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, or protected-individual status is required to satisfy ITAR and related regulatory requirements. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Base pay: $207,400–$259,200 per year.

What you will do

• Build and maintain infrastructure and pipelines for an internal LLM-powered chat service.
• Design, operate, and troubleshoot highly available cloud-native infrastructure on Amazon EKS.
• Develop observability strategies covering monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Architect reliable data pipelines and improve CI/CD, automated testing, deployment, and release management.
• Implement cloud security, Docker containerization, and automation using Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Collaborate with developers on software reliability, resolve complex production incidents, and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related field.
• Deep expertise in Amazon EKS, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, infrastructure as code, Docker, networking, distributed systems, and operating systems.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
• Experience designing data pipelines with technologies such as Kafka, Airflow, or Spark.
• Strong CI/CD experience with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD, plus advanced Python, Bash, and PowerShell skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with other Kubernetes distributions or cloud providers.
• Familiarity with SOC 2, HIPAA, or GDPR compliance frameworks.
• AWS, Kubernetes, or other relevant certifications.
