TL;DR

What you will do

  • Conduct in-person and virtual outreach to communities and organizations to raise awareness of IRC programs and improve referral pathways.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IRC program eligibility criteria and conduct eligibility screenings for walk-in clients.
  • Support client enrollment into qualifying programs and refer ineligible clients to appropriate community resources (e.g., social services, shelters, food banks, crisis centers).
  • Document each client interaction according to established requirements, including entering client information into IRC database(s) and supporting tracking/reporting.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and partner organizations; build and maintain relationships with area service providers.
  • May train and lead support staff, volunteers, and interns; may also provide translation/interpretation as needed and as capacity allows.

Requirements

  • Relevant professional experience in the human services field required; minimum 2 years strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations strongly preferred.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to use internet/digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving.
  • Native Haitian-Creole and/or Spanish speaker preferred; proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment; may require occasional weekend and/or evening work and some field work for outreach.
