TL;DR
Major Opportunities Specialist (Bid Management): Lead strategic customer-centric opportunities from initiation to closure with an accent on bid/win strategy, cross-functional governance, and commercial modeling. Focus on crafting persuasive proposals and aligning complex stakeholder inputs to deliver compliant, commercially viable responses under tight timelines.
Location: London, Manchester, Cheltenham or Ipswich (Hybrid: 3 days office based & 2 days remote). DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in the UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance. Mon–Fri, 37.5 hours.

What you will do
- Lead strategic opportunities end-to-end, defining bid/win strategy from the outset and driving closure within tight timelines.
- Engage senior internal stakeholders (up to MD-level) and external clients to shape compelling, commercially viable responses.
- Lead cross-functional bid teams with robust governance, risk management, and compliance across the opportunity lifecycle.
- Develop commercial models, pricing strategies, and business cases that deliver customer value and sustainable business outcomes.
- Produce professional, persuasive bid responses that clearly articulate value and differentiation.
Requirements
- DV Security Clearance required; must have lived in the UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.
- Proven experience leading large-scale commercial opportunities/bids from qualification and strategy through submission and contract award.
- Strong commercial acumen to develop and articulate complex business cases.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels.
- Deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, and solution selling.
- Bid management, commercial acumen, negotiation, and decision-making experience.
Nice to have
- Experience leading large-scale bids in telecoms, IT, or managed services.
- Professionally recognised bid/proposal management qualification (e.g., APMP) or training (e.g., Shipley).
