Electrical Engineer - Oil & Gas (62607)

Location: Fully remote within the United States, with an option to work from Lakewood, Colorado; travel up to 25% is required for client meetings, site visits, field investigations, commissioning, and project support.

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 per year.

What you will do

• Perform electrical engineering and design for industrial, utility, and oil and gas facilities, including medium- and low-voltage distribution systems.
• Build power system models and perform short-circuit, load-flow, protective-device coordination, arc-flash, motor-starting, and harmonic studies.
• Develop one-line and three-line diagrams, control and wiring schematics, equipment specifications, calculations, technical reports, and construction packages.
• Support distribution, transmission, substation, relay, protection, utility coordination, and interconnection projects.
• Coordinate with clients, utilities, vendors, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Provide field assistance, troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and quality review support from preliminary design through issued-for-construction deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; an electric power option is preferred.
• 2–6 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, utility engineering, industrial power systems, consulting engineering, or oil and gas.
• Experience with power system studies using ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, PowerFactory, Milsoft, or similar software.
• Knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power systems, utility distribution, overhead and underground distribution, and utility standards.
• FE/EIT is preferred, and progress toward PE licensure is strongly preferred.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States. Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with limited supervision are required.

Nice to have

• Exposure to PSS/E and transmission planning or power system analysis tools.
• Experience with protective relaying, relay coordination, SEL relays, substation systems, or utility interconnections.
• FE/PE licensure, certifications, or progress toward professional licensure.
