What you will do

• Develop and optimize platforms for single-cell transcriptomics and genetic engineering in bacteria.
• Collaborate with scientific staff and external partners to define and achieve experimental goals.
• Innovate and integrate improvements into existing tools and SOPs to overcome technical limitations.
• Perform bioinformatic analysis and sequencing data QC for troubleshooting and evaluation.
• Support general lab sequencing workflows, including nucleic acid extraction and library preparation for Illumina and PacBio.
• Maintain detailed experimental records, SOPs, and coordinate with vendors for new tools and reagents.

Requirements

• B.S. in microbiology, biochemistry, cell/molecular biology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of related professional experience.
• Location: Must be based in or be able to work on-site in Cambridge, MA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Strong background in molecular biology and genomics methodologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience in high-throughput laboratory settings.
• Knowledge of and experience with DNA and RNA extraction.
• Familiarity with Unix command line and computational tools for genomic data analysis.
