What you will do

• Conduct research on microbiome structure and function relevant to human health, hygiene, and beauty
• Design and execute in vitro and laboratory-based microbiology experiments
• Develop, optimize, and execute microbiome assays, including microbial culture and cell-based assays
• Analyze and summarize experimental data to drive project decisions and mechanistic understanding
• Maintain detailed documentation of experimental protocols, data, and internal reports
• Oversee general laboratory operations, including inventory management and chemical safety

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Microbial Ecology, or a related life science field
• 1-3 years of relevant academic or industry experience in microbiology or microbiome research
• Hands-on experience with microbial culture, aseptic techniques, and molecular biology methods (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, RT-qPCR)
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in San Diego, CA, US
• Ability to accurately document results and follow strict experimental protocols

• Experience with human microbiome samples
